Wedding at Chaumette Winery with Rain and Fun in STL

If there has ever been a couple that just enjoy being together, Rachel and Derek are that couple. When we first met them for a quick Save the Date photo session at our studio, they were cracking each other up non stop. It was infectious, and I found myself laughing that them too. It was the same each time we have been with them. On the wedding day, we had rain…a lot of rain. We get to the reception, and their beautiful cake had fallen apart. Did they freak out? Did they get depressed about the bumpy parts messing up their perfect day? Not for a moment. They rolled with it…laughed about it…and continued to be themselves and enjoyed every second of it. They first met in high school, and I bet most of their time together has been just like that…enjoying each other and the countless adventures in which they find themselves.

The wedding was in Ste. Genevieve and the reception was at Chaumette Winery (which is one of the very best places in the entire St. Louis area). In fact, Chaumette scored even more awesome points by fixing their wedding cake after it had collapse. They went above and beyond on that one. Everything was beautiful as it always is…even with the rain. Shannon got soaked at one point running from our car to the wedding party’s trolley, but she was being a rockstar like she always is.
