Ste Genevieve Wedding with Grace and Alex - St Louis Wedding Photographers & Commercial Photographers

There are some wedding days that are beautiful because of the locations, the weather, the details, and the way everything comes together. And then there are wedding days that go a little deeper than that.

Grace and Alex’s wedding in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri was absolutely one of those days.

Their day started at Main Street Inn in downtown Ste. Genevieve, where Grace got ready surrounded by the people closest to her. It was the perfect place to begin the morning — full of historic charm, character, and that quiet feeling you want before the pace of the wedding day really begins.

From there, everyone made their way to Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church for the ceremony. It is hard to imagine a more fitting setting for a classic Ste. Genevieve wedding. The church has such a timeless presence, and Grace and Alex’s ceremony felt emotional, meaningful, and deeply connected to family and faith.

After the ceremony, we spent time taking wedding portraits around downtown Ste. Genevieve. One of the things we love about photographing weddings in Ste. Genevieve is that you do not have to go far to find beautiful backdrops. The historic streets, old buildings, brick, stone, and small-town charm all make downtown feel romantic without needing to force anything. Grace and Alex fit perfectly into that setting, and we loved being able to keep their portraits close to where the whole day was happening.

The reception was held at the DuBourg Centre, another beautiful Ste. Genevieve wedding venue with history and character. The evening was full of laughter, dancing, hugs, and all the moments that make a reception feel alive. Complete Weddings + Events kept the celebration moving as the DJ, and the dance floor had that fun, relaxed energy everyone hopes for at a wedding reception.

But the moment we will remember most from Grace and Alex’s wedding was not a big staged moment. It was something completely heartfelt. Grace’s grandfather was not able to attend the wedding because of health reasons. During the reception, he called in at exactly the right time and was able to offer the prayer before dinner. The whole room stopped. It was one of those rare wedding moments where everyone understood how special it was as it was happening. There was not a dry eye in the place.

That is what made this day so memorable. Yes, the locations were beautiful. Yes, downtown Ste. Genevieve gave us incredible places for photos. Yes, the reception was joyful and full of celebration. But more than anything, Grace and Alex’s wedding felt like a day centered around family, love, faith, and the people who mattered most to them.

We are so thankful we had the chance to photograph this Ste. Genevieve wedding for Grace and Alex. It was beautiful in every way, and we are so happy for these two as they begin married life together.
